    Twick.it-Blog

    Concept

    Sean Kollak

Twick.it is an explain engine –
    which everybody can join.

The aim of Twick.it is to find the best explanation for every topic in every language. Whatever you are looking for: At Twick.it you find a wealth of topics explained by people. You can valuate these explanations, formulate your own explanation, add new topics and report misuse. Using Twick.it is child’s play and fun, too. The only difficulty is: Your explanation must not be longer than 140 characters!
As everybody can join Twick.it. there are many differing explanations. The exiting question is: Who can explain a certain topic best? Go for it! Only you are responsible for your Twick – nobody else can edit it. But everybody can valuate it. The better your explanation is valued by others the higher it will be listed in subsequent queries. In addition to your explanation you can fill in abbreviations and add a link to an internet source which offers more information.
The more, the better: With every sensible explanation and valuation the explain engine is improved! A semantic analysis detects related topics as well as the most import keywords (see Tag-Cloud and Topic Tree). This let’s you explore areas of topics. It’s quick, it’s easy and it’s fun.

    Explanations for everybody

The explanations collected in Twick.it can be used by everybody! A few examples: You can display explanations of a certain topic area automatically in your blog. Or you mark a word on your website – as soon as somebody explained it at Twick.it it will be displayed as tool-tip on your website. Or you may use Twick.it to find people who are interested in the same topics as you. If you are tired of checking the endless Gooooooooogle search results you can use the Twick.it-search instead. It can be installed in every browser quickly and easily. These are only a few of our ideas – more applications will follow. To makes this happen we have installed a connection (API) for programmers. And with every new application it becomes even more attractive to join Twick.it.

What are you waiting for? If you have any questions regarding registration or use of Twick.it your will find an answer in our FAQs.
